In accordance with ordinances passed by the Pace Board on August 1, 2007,
Pace will be implementing the follow schedule of fare increases and
service reductions and eliminations. Watch for more information on this
website and on the buses for exact dates and more details.
Pace Board members will re-visit the fare increases and service reductions
when and if funding will becomes available.
FARES
ADA Paratransit
The ADA Paratransit fare will be raised from $2.25 and $2.50, to $3.00
region-wide effective on or about September 1, 2007.
If further funding is not obtained, the ADA fares will be raised to $4.00
region-wide on or about January 1, 2008.
The Taxi Access Program (TAP) fare will be raised to $5.50 effective on or
about September 1, 2007.
If further funds are not obtained, then the fares for the TAP Program will
be raised to $6.50 on or about January 1, 2008.
The use of the ADA monthly pass and CTA one-ride tickets will be
discontinued on City of Chicago ADA service effective on or about
September 1, 2007. However, Pace will expand the availability of the Pace
ADA one-ride ticket to City ADA services.
Fixed Route Services
· On or about September 1, 2007, the Pace local route and Metra
feeder route adult fare will increase from $1.25 to $1.50 with
corresponding increases in reduced fares and associated ticket and pass
prices.
· On or about October 1, 2007, Pace will no longer accept CTA 7,
5, 3, 2 and 1 Day, U-Pass, Visitor and Fun Passes lacking reimbursement
from the RTA.
· In the absence of adequate new public funding, which addresses
the severe funding shortfall, Pace's current regular route adult fare of
$1.50 will increase to $2.00 on or about January 1, 2008, with
corresponding increases in reduced fares, tickets and pass prices.
Vanpools
· In the absence of adequate public funding, which addresses the
severe funding shortfall, Pace's current fares for all Vanpool programs
will increase by no more than 10% on or about September 1, 2007.
SERVICE REDUCTIONS AND ELIMINATIONS
ADA Paratransit
Pace will restrict ADA service delivery to the federally mandated
guidelines of ¾ of a mile of regular fixed route service effective on or
about October 1, 2007. In addition, this service will only operate during
the same days and only during the same hours of the fixed route operation.
Fixed Route Services
Discontinue fixed routes and Metra Feeders that do not meet the minimum
performance standards on or about September 29, 2007.
Discontinue the remaining Metra Feeders on or about December 3, 2007, if
no new funds become available.
Discontinue all service currently operated on weekends on or about January
5, 2008, if no new funds become available. |
