It is with great sadness and shock that we pass along the information that Patrick Juris, Valiant Scholarship winner and a good friend of and volunteer at SBAIL, died Sunday, November 6th at 21 years of age. Patrick led our First Saturday group for young adults and had the ability to connect with so many of his peers who, like him, lived their lives not defined by spina bifida.
In honor of Patrick's love of learning, the Spina Bifida Association of Illinois and the Juris family have established a special scholarship for post-secondary students in Patrick's name.
